Isabella Greenway King 1886-1953

Isabella Greenway was widowed twice and often had to raise her children alone but was still active and successful in her community. She was involved in business by operating a ranch and an inn. She was also involved in civic activities in Tucson. She was Arizona’s Democratic National Committeewoman and the state chairman for the Franklin Roosevelt Campaign. Most importantly in Arizona history, she became Arizona’s first congresswoman in 1933.
